When you add a script to a passage, you configure any additional information the script requires. For example, a script that lists your organisation's business hours may need you to specify those hours.
Script values are configured for each script message bubble or response, just like a button configuration is configured for just that button bubble. Each time you add a script in a passage, you configure the values that should be used. If you want to change those values, you'll need to change them in each place you've used the script.
Script values can use placeholder chips just like chatbot messages and buttons can. The maximum value for a script parameter is 4096 characters. If the value of your placeholder makes the total parameter length longer than the limit, the parameter is truncated to 4096 characters.
To change the values in a script sent as a chatbot message:
- Open the team and chatbot you want to edit the script values for.
- Navigate to the conversation that contains the passage.
- Open the passage.
- Click the message bubble of the script you want to change.
- Click Config.
- Change the values.
Type @ to add the placeholder chip for a variable or constant. - Click Save to close the script configuration.
- Click Save to save the changes to the passage.
To change the values in a script run as an Expected user response:
