Add public and company holidays

Add national public holidays and company holidays that your business observes to ensure your business hours script correctly directs your traffic.

Adding public holidays will automatically make your business unavailable on the public holidays of the country you select. You can add public holidays for one country to a business hours set.

Use company holidays to configure different availability for specific dates, including reduced, extended  or varied trading hours, and company holidays. You can add as many company holidays as you need.

Add public holidays

A business hours set can only have public holidays from one country. If you select a new country, the existing country's public holidays will be removed.

To add public holidays:

  1. Select the team and chatbot you need.
  2. Open the Manage section in the left navigation and click Settings.
  3. Click Business Hours.
  4. In the business hours set you want to change, scroll down to Public & Company Holidays.
  5. Click + Public Holidays.
  6. Select the country you want to add public holidays for.
  7. Click Add.
  8. Click Save.

Add a company holiday

Add company holidays for days your company observes as holidays or varied trading hours:

  1. Select the team and chatbot you need.
  2. Open the Manage section in the left navigation and click Settings.
  3. Click Business Hours.
  4. In the business hours set you want to change, scroll down to Public & Company Holidays.
  5. Click + Company Holiday.
  6. Give a brief name to describe the different trading hours or holiday in the Holiday field. 
  7. Select the Date the different trading hours applies to.
  8. Either:
    • Select the time your business is available.
    • Click the menu icon on the right to add an additional time slot of availability.
      For example, you may have one time slot in the morning, a break during lunch where your livechat agents are not available, and another slot in the afternoon.
    • Click the menu icon on the right to make that day unavailable.
    • If you want to remove additional availability slots you have created:
      1. Click the menu on the right and click Set as unavailable.
      2. Click the menu on the right and click Add Business Hour Time Slot.
  9. Click Save.
