Add public and company holidays

Add national public holidays and company holidays that your business observes to ensure your business hours script correctly directs your traffic.

Adding public holidays will automatically make your business unavailable on the public holidays of the country you select. You can add public holidays for one country to a business hours set.

Use company holidays to configure different availability for specific dates, including reduced, extended  or varied trading hours, and company holidays. You can add as many company holidays as you need.

You need an administrator of publisher role on your team to edit business hours.

Add public holidays

A business hours set can only have public holidays from one country. If you select a new country, the existing country's public holidays is replaced.

To add public holidays:

  1. Click Manage in the left navigation, then click Settings.
  2. Click Business Hours.
  3. Click the business hours set you want to change.
  4. Click + Public Holidays.
  5. Select the country you want to add public holidays for.
  6. Click Add.
  7. Click Save.

Add a company holiday

Add company holidays for days your company observes as holidays or varied trading hours:

  1. Click Manage in the left navigation, then click Settings.
  2. Click Business Hours.
  3. Click the business hours set you want to change.
  4. Click + Company Holiday.
  5. Give a brief name to describe the different trading hours or holiday in the Holiday field. 
  6. Select the Date the different trading hours applies to.
  7. Select the availability:
    • To set a single period of availablility, select the time your business is available.
    • To make a day unavailable or delete a time slot, click the menu icon on the right, then click Set as unavailable.
    • To create multiple periods of availability, click the menu icon on the right, then click Add Business Hour Time Slot.
      For example, you may have one time slot in the morning, a break during lunch where your livechat agents are not available, and another slot in the afternoon.
  8. Click Save.
