Create an inbound keyword question

Create an inbound keyword question to start this passage or logic when the chatbot user's response contains specific words or phrases.

If you want to start the passage or logic when the chatbot user responds to a specific passage, create an outbound keyword question in that passage. If you want to match the chatbot user's intent rather than a defined keyword phrase, create an NLP question.

To create an inbound keyword question:

  1. Click Create in the left navigation, then click Convesations.
  2. Click the conversation with the passage or logic you want to add a question to.
  3. Click the passage or logic you want to add a question to.
  4. Click Inbound Questions.
  5. Choose to create either a global question that will match from anywhere in the chatbot or a conversation question that will only match within this conversation.
  6. Click + Question in your chosen context.
  7. Click the options menu on the right of the new question.
  8. Click Convert to Keywords.
  9. Click the edit icon next to the New Question title.
  10. Type a descriptive name for the question.
  11. Type the first keyword or phrase you want to match in the field.
  12. Type Enter or click + to add a new keyword or phrase.
  13. If you want to weight the question, select a weight from the dropdown above the training phrases.
  14. If you want to add a word limit to the question, click the A dropdown and select the maximum number of words that can match this question.
The default limit is three words. Select the infinity symbol to remove the limit.
  15. Click Save.

You must publish these changes before they'll appear in your live chatbot.
