Use insight reports to explore trends and patterns by asking questions about your transcripts. The model connected to your insight reports usage will analyse the transcripts that match the report and any files you've uploaded for additional context, and generate an answer.
Ask the right questions
Insight reports are designed to answer questions like what and why, such as "what questions has the chatbot not been able to answer?" or "what question intents should I add to address gaps?"
Insight reports are not designed to answer questions like how many. Avoid questions about quantities such as "how many people asked about credit cards?" or "how many transcripts include the word 'loans'?".
When the analysis includes reference transcripts, these are a sample of the transcripts related to your question, they are not a complete list.
You can:
- Ask a question.
- View transcript references that are provided alongside some chat answers.
- Create a new analysis context to switch topics or clear your context window.
Ask a question
To explore transcript insights:
- Click Improve in the left navigation, then click Insight Reports.
- If the report you want to use is shared with your team, click the Shared tab.
- Click the report you want to use.
- If the report is for a dynamic period, click Refresh.
The report displays the number of transcripts that match the report criteria. If your report matches too many or too few transcripts, adjust the filters or reporting period and click Update. - If you want to provide additional files for context in the analysis, click the attachment icon at the bottom of the chat window.
- Optionally, select a set of reference transcripts to analyse.
- Type your question at the bottom of the chat window and press enter.
Your analysis uses a context window to hold the chat history and any files you've uploaded. If you have a long analysis session, you may exceed the context window size. If this happens, you can either create a new context to keep your uploaded files and chat history, or clear the chat to delete all files, references, and chat history.
View reference transcripts
The analysis may periodically include references: a set of transcripts from the report that were used to analyse the question. References appear below the chat response as a button to View References, with the number of transcripts listed and the answer the references correspond to. For example: View References (5 Transcripts) - Answer 1.
These transcript references are not a complete list of all transcripts that were related to this question. You should not use these as a measure of the true volume of related transcripts. See Ask the right questions above.
To view the reference transcripts, you can:
- Click the View References button after the answer.
- Select the answer number from the drop-down at the top of the transcripts list.
You can continue using all the transcripts in the report, or you can focus your analysis on a specific reference set. Select the transcripts you want to analyse using the drop-down at the top of the transcripts list. Select either:
- The transcripts that were provided as references with an earlier answer. These are displayed with the answer number they correspond to, such as Answer 1.
- The transcripts for the report you have selected. This is displayed as Source.
You can also download the current page of transcripts.
Create a new analysis context
The chat interface has a context window that remembers your chat history and uploaded files so that you can ask follow-on questions naturally.
For best results, try to stick to a single topic of analysis when asking questions, and avoid jumping between unrelated topics. If you want to start a new topic of analysis without losing the answers you already have, you can create a new context.
To create a new context, click New Context at the top of the chat window. The history of the previous context is still displayed in the chat. Any files you've uploaded are still available in your new context.
If you want to delete all answers, uploaded files, and reference transcripts, click Clear Chat.
